There is a girl sitting in front of me that seems to think that doing herself up like Amy Winehouse is a good idea. Her hair is so big! I want to ask her if she listens to vv brown. Test her hip factor.
It’s basically what I can attribute my musical range(?) to.
So, speaking of which, when I opened the page up today to search for a clear definition of just who this Asher Roth character is, (and why his face is all over the streets of Manhattan) I decided to click on the first song on the front page (usually the latest song posted online).
Luck was on my side today, most definately.
Usually, when I decided to try my luck this way, I get some sort of dull (read ‘unlistenable’) folk-indie attempt which bores me back towards my initial search.
Today however, I happened to stumble upon Shugo Tokumaru.
After many hours of digging up his albums, listening, and eating Nillas and nori (not together), I’ve come to the conclusion that Shugo Tokumaru’s music is pretty much like Yann Tiersen running into Beirut and Sufjan Stevens in Tokyo, collaborating over a quiet cup of coffee, then making the first kid they find in a bookstore sing about his dreams.
Yeah. Try decipher that one.
It totally makes sense…I think.
(by the way. I found out who Asher Roth is and what he sounds like…I don’t like it.)
